INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE RESEARCH (IMR)

THETA Under IMR Programme delivers services that include: integrated biomedical, traditional and complementary model clinic, clinical research for efficacy and safety of local herbal medicines, applied research on use of traditional and alternative therapies and dissemination of traditional medicine research

TRAINING AND CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

THETA Under TCD Programme has worked hard to establish an institute for indigenous health sciences, delivery of accredited short and long term training courses, technical assistance to district based traditional medicine programmes and documentation of indigenous traditional medicine knowledge.

COMMUNITY HEALTH SYSTEMS STRENGTHENING

Under Community Health Systems Strengthening programme, THETA delivers the following community health services: capacity building for community led HIV/AIDS prevention initiatives, maternal new-born and health (MNCH) services, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) prevention and advocacy for health rights and equity. Community programmes will focus on strengthening existing community health systems and structures.

ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN PROJECT IMPROVING THE ACCESS OF OVC TO EDUCATION PROJECT

The THETA Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) program is implemented under the Community Health Systems Strengthening (CHSS) department. The programs implemented focus on; Prevention of significant infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria), Maternal new-born and Child health services, and non-communicable disease prevention and management services. THETA Uganda has for the past 10 years been implementing OVC projects. These projects have carefully been aligned to the National core programing areas (CPAS) as stipulated in the National Strategic program plan of interventions for orphans and other vulnerable children which include ; Economic Strengthening, Food and Nutrition Security, Health, Water, Sanitation and Shelter, Education, Psychosocial Support and Basic Care, Child Protection and Legal Support, Legal, Policy and Institutional Mechanisms....
